"Our house had been on the market for over 9 months with a local estate agent. There had been some viewings but no-one was making any offers even after the price had been reduced. The "excuses" given by the agent were that people weren't buying because of the banks not lending, mortgages not being available or people not having enough deposit - but that did not help me get to where I needed to be.
We really sick of the situation - wanting to move out of the area completely down to Essex to be nearer my family. Work prospects were not good locally but I had managed to get work arranged there so selling the house was now a priority. Enough was enough.
